Tuition Fee Loans

A Tuition Fee Loan covers the cost of your tuition fees and is paid directly to your awarding institution (in this case, Bath Spa University). You’ll only start repaying the loan once you’ve completed your course and are earning £26,575 or more per year. Both full-time and part-time students can apply.

Maintenance Loans

If eligible, you can also apply for a Maintenance Loan to cover living costs. This loan is paid directly into your bank account at the start of each term. Like the Tuition Fee Loan, repayments begin once you’ve completed your course and are earning more than £26,575 annually. For more information, visit  gov.uk/studentfinance.

Maintenance Grants

You may be able to apply for a Maintenance Grant to help with living expenses. Unlike loans, Maintenance Grants do not need to be repaid. However, receiving a grant may reduce the amount of Maintenance Loan you are eligible to borrow.

New students must provide proof that they have lived in the UK for at least five years before their course start date to qualify for living cost support from Student Finance England.
